At 9:17pm tonight, Matt Carle hit his 10,000th follower on Twitter. As a result, the Flyers defenseman will donate $10,000 to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
For those of you who don't know, Carle propositioned the good people of the Twitter world that if he could get 10,000 followers by the end of the season, he would donate $10,000 to C.H.o.P.
Believe it or not, this proposition was actually met with some criticism. That is stupid and dumb, and that is all I will say about that.
Carle tweeted the following after hitting the mark:
"I'm overwhelmed at how quickly this all came together. I'm in the process of working with CHOP now to get the money delivered ASAP!"
Matty, you are awesome. We here at Philly Reign love you, and you can hang out with us any time you want.
Carle tweeted the proposition late on 3 February. He hit the mark just shy of 8 days in.
Of course, Matt couldn't have done this on his own. If you or anyone you know became one of his followers, pat yourself on the back.
