Philadelphia Flyers G.M. has signed defensemen Brayden Coburn to a 4 year extension worth $18 million dollars. This is a $1.3 million a year raise from Brayden's current $3.2 million salary. The current contract has him signed thru the 2015-2016 season. Since coming over from the Atlanta Thrashers, for Alexei Zhitnik, Coburn has become a very important part of the Flyers defense core. Last year Brayden finished the season with 16pts, was a +15 and played all 82 games. Brayden has become a shutdown defensemen for the Flyers and is able to play against the other teams top players. Whether or not Brayden is worth the $4.5 million cap hit, only time will tell.
