The Cardiac Kids, throughout the year the Flyers have faced big deficits in games, yesterday was no different. Down 3-0 to the Penguins after 1, the Flyers staged an incredible comeback. Danny Briere got it going taking a pass from Brayden Schenn and put home the breakaway goal. Briere was offsides, but with all of the calls against the Flyers, evens out right? Briere kept it going as he put a simple shot on net that eluded Marc Andre Fleury. Then Schenn, who had been a dominant force all game, making big hit after big hit, deflected a shot from Scott Hartnell by MAF to tie it up for the Flyers, battling back again, on the road, in the first game of the playoffs. Just 2:23 into OT, Jake Voracek netted a rebound to give the Flyers a thrilling 4-3 win.

How this team does it, I don't know, I don't think anybody knows, but one thing we do know is, this team is exciting. They never give up no matter what, this year's team has some of the most heart that I've seen from a Flyers team. The way these rookies play like 10 year vets is amazing. One of the most impressive parts from last night was the play of Brayden Schenn. One of the key pieces of the Mike Richards deal, Schenn showed last night what makes him so good of a prospect. Another thing that impressed me was the play of Ilya Bryzgalov, Bryz could've collapsed after allowing that bad 3rd goal, instead, he played like he did in the month of March, stopping everything that came his way.

The thing that impressed me the most though, was how they settled down as a team as the game went on, in the first few minutes the Pens were coming hard and the Flyers seemed to be playing back, not rushing and making the hits. As the game went on you could see the momentum shift, the Flyers took control of the game and started to spend a lot more time in the Pens zone.

Game 2 is tomorrow night as the Flyers look to take the commanding 2-0 series lead heading home to the WFC. If they can get out to an early lead and take control, they should be in business. If they fall behind like they did in game 1, hope for a miracle Flyers fans, hope for a miracle.
