The Flyers won their second in a row against another one of the new look teams around the NHL the Buffalo Sabres. One of their new pieces, former Flyer Ville Leino. Leino made headlines in the off season by saying he thought that the Sabres should've won that 7 game series vs the Flyers last year. Well while the Flyers faithful couldn't give him the booing he deserves last night, the Flyers did exactly what the fans would've wanted them to do, win. They got off to a blazing start as Sean Couturier netted his 3rd NHL goal just 1:43 in. James Van Riemsdyk followed just 13 seconds after ripping one by Ryan Miller. Miller looked bad again later in the first as Scott Hartnell blew a slap shot by Miller top shelf as the former Vezina Trophy winner was pulled in favor of Jonas Enroth. After the pulling of Miller though, the Sabres seemed to play a little better as in the second Andrej Sekara got a lucky bounce as his slapper went off the boards and went in the back of the net. Another lucky bounce gave Buffalo it's second goal, a simple pass out in front of the net by Luke Adam went off the skate of Flyers D-man Kimmo Timonen. With 15 seconds left Ilya Bryzgalov made one final big save as the Flyers hung on to beat the Sabres.

The big line for the Flyers was at it again last night as Scott Hartnell picked up his 10th point in 5 games giving him 12 points on the year, 5 goals and 7 assists. Jagr and Roo both assisted on Hartnell's goal. If there's one thing that it seems you can count on with this team so far is the production of that line. Giroux is well...being Giroux with 7 goals and 9 assists. Jagr is surprisingly having a hot start as it looks like he hasn't missed a beat since last playing in 2007-2008 with 5 goals and 7 assists.

Ilya Bryzgalov looked strong in net again and hopefully this means he's gaining that confidence and can return to the goalie he was the past two years with the Coyotes. Tonight the Flyers face the New Jersey Devils as they look for 3 in a row. The Devils sit 12th in the East with 9 points. Devils starter Martin Brodeur just returned from injury yesterday in a 5-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs but won't play tonight per the Flyers website. No word yet if Bryzgalov will be in net tonight for the Orange and Black. LET'S GO FLYERS!
