After 23-years covering the Philadelphia Flyers from the South Jersey Courier Post, beat writer Chuck Gormley has taken a new position in Washington D.C. as the "Capitals Insider" for Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic.

Chuck was a keystone in the Flyers news community. He had more ways of digging out information buried deep beneath the sealed minds of our hockey organization than anyone in the business. Gormley IS that "fly on the wall.

When Chuck took a break from reporting from the fronts of the grape vine, he's dedicated time writing books such as "Orange, Black & Blue: The Greatest Philadelphia Flyers Stories Never Told" which has received nothing less than terrific reviews.

In every sense of the word, he's a professional. It's a sad day to learn Chuck will be leaving the Bullies, but I cannot express enough how much his time spent informing Flyers fans has been appreciated. So much so that he's even been awarded --

Gormley has earned numerous awards and honors throughout his career as a sportswriter. He captured the top awards for daily sports coverage from the Philadelphia Press Association in 1997 and 2004 and finished third in that category in 2004. Special Olympics New Jersey honored him with their outstanding media award for his coverage of their events in 2007 and he was a regular recipient of Courier-Post employee honors. CSNWashington
