With all eyes on Ilya Bryzgalov and how he would look against his former teammates on the Phoenix Coyotes, one of the new Flyers stepped up big late in the game as Matt Read got a great pass from Max talbot and buried it to give the Flyers a 2-1 win over the Yotes. The game started out slowly for both the Flyers and Yotes as both teams were held scoreless for over a period and a half when fiinally James Van Riemsdyk ripped a wrister by Yotes goalie Mike Smith who has done a great job replacing Bryzgalov in Phoenix. Just 3 minutes in though into the 3rd period Mikkel Boedker pushed one through the 5 hole of Bryz and the Yotes tied it at one and the rest is history. Read got the pass from Talbot and the rookie came up big giving the Flyers the lead with just 18 seconds to go.

Probably the only downside to the win was the injury to Jaromir Jagr, Jagr won't play against the Winnipeg Jets tomorrow but shouldn't miss more than that according to Flyers GM Paul Holmgren. Then again, Homer has changed the injury status of many players many times before so cross your fingers Flyers fans and hope Jagr will be ok.

Tomorrow the Flyers face off against the Jets and this will be the first time the Flyers have played in Winnipeg since 1996 back in the days of the Legion of Doom and Hexy in net. The Jets sit 13th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 7-9-3 while the Flyers sit atop the East with a record of 11-4-3. But the Jets aren't to be taken lightly as we saw when they first played the Flyers in that wild 9-8 finish with Winnipeg coming out on top. Let's hope we don't have another one of those games tomorrow. LET'S GO FLYERS!!
