You mean Flyers hockey starts an hour earlier?!?!? I'M GAME!!!
Just in case some of you Flyers fans are still nursing over the hangover from celebrating the Flyers best 2-0-1 divisional record and didn't hear .... Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins has been moved forward from 7 to a 6:00pm start because of the Phillies beginning their NL Championship Series against the San Francisco Giants at 7:17pm.
Numerous reasons why; Traffic on the way in would be more hellish than finding out your Criagslist escort for the evening was once named Ted, and once the Flyers game ends it gives its attending fans a chance to make it over to the ballpark or watch the rest of NLCS Game 1 from the Wells Fargo Center's AT&T Pavilion (which has been highly encouraged from the arena's staff).
Regardless, I know a very large portion of my readers love to tailgate Bullies games early and late in the season because it's weather-appropriate. As of now, according to Weather.com, Saturday during the day looks sunny but windy, with a high of 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
So if you're getting into the lot around middle or late afternoon, dress appropriately. None of this light, puck-bunny attire that will leave your nipples more solid than Darryl Strawberry's arrest record. If it's goosebumps you want, wait until the final buzzer sounds and the score is 6 - 0, Flyers.
(^ ya like how I put those two asterisks there? Lets the reader know there's going to be a transition. THANKS, TYLER!)
I'm sure you're all excited and ready for tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. But not because your favorite color's blue.
Simon Gagne makes his first return to Philadelphia since traded over the summer. Tonight he'll receive a tribute video before the game, along with a predicted standing ovation from the Flyers faithful. Puck drop is 7:00pm, and can be watched on Versus Channel, or CSN Philly.
