Eagles Losing Streak: A Philly Fan Survival Guide
Look. Nobody is having a good Monday in this city.
The Eagles are 2-3 after losing 19-17 to the Jaguars in London on Sunday, their third straight loss after the Bears and Rams. A 57-yard field goal as time expired. A kickoff decision Nick Sirianni publicly took the blame for. A chaotic finish that somehow felt both shocking and extremely on brand for Philly.
So here's the Philly Reign guide to getting through it. Because if you've lived here more than a week, you already know the answer: we complain, we show up anyway, and we wear the shirt.
How did the Eagles lose to the Jaguars in London?
The Eagles led 17-16 on a 48-yard Jake Elliott field goal with 8 seconds left, then lost 19-17 when Jacksonville's Cam Little hit a 57-yarder as time expired. The kickoff that followed was returned 53 yards, and a clock mix-up (one second was put back on) gave Jacksonville the chance.
Sirianni said afterward, "I didn't make the right decision and I lost us that game." Credit where it's due: that's a straight answer, and Philly respects a straight answer.
The defense actually showed up. Jalen Carter had two first-half sacks and Quinyon Mitchell picked off his first regular-season pass. The problem was the other side of the ball. The offense hasn't scored a second-half touchdown in 18 straight drives, and the Birds ran for just 1.2 yards per carry with Saquon Barkley out.
Is it time to panic about the Eagles?
Not yet, but the schedule gets real fast. At 2-3 the Eagles still have a home game vs. Carolina on Oct. 18, then Monday Night Football against the Cowboys on Oct. 26, then back-to-back NFC East games. Everything is still on the table.
The good news is on the injury report. Landon Dickerson can return from injured reserve this week, and DeVonta Smith and Barkley could be back soon, though the team hasn't confirmed anything. A healthy offensive line and a healthy Saquon change the math more than any hot take on sports radio.
Philly fans are allowed to be furious. We are not allowed to be fair-weather. That's the whole deal.
What do Philly fans do after a bad loss?
Philly fans do what they've always done: grumble through Monday, call into WIP, argue with a cousin in Delco, and show up Sunday in green anyway. Loyalty mixed with frustration is basically the Philadelphia personality.
A few time-tested coping methods from the Philly Reign office:
- Eat a hoagie. Do not check the standings.
- Blame the refs for exactly one hour. Then move on.
- Rewatch the Jalen Carter sack highlights. Healing.
- Wear the shirt anyway. Nothing says "I'm still here" like a clean Eagles tee on the worst week of the season.
What should you wear to Eagles vs. Panthers?
For the Panthers game on Oct. 18 at 1 p.m., wear something that says you're not going anywhere. Start with an Eagles game day shirt in midnight green, add a hoodie for the October chill, and finish with a hat you can pull low during the second half. (We've all done it.)
If you're building a full Philly game day outfit, our Eagles gear collection covers tees, crewnecks, and more. Cold-weather Sundays call for layers, and our hoodie collection is built for exactly that. Want something to keep on the shelf through the bad weeks and the good ones? Why do Eagles fans stay loyal through losing streaks?
Because Philly sports fandom is identity, not entertainment. This is a city where fans booed Santa Claus, cheered for the Bounty Hunters, and waited decades for a Super Bowl. Every bad stretch feels familiar, and so does the comeback story that follows.
The shirt isn't a victory lap. It's a statement that you're part of something bigger than one game. That's what we try to make at Philly Reign, and it's why we're two lifelong Philadelphians first and a merch shop second. You can read more about us here.
Philly Sports Tees for the Long Haul
Wins fade. Philly sports tees stay in the rotation. If you're picking up one piece this season, make it something you'd wear after a win, a loss, or a Tuesday at the Wawa. Our t-shirt collection is built for that, and so is every piece of philly sports apparel we make.
The Birds have 12 more games. Plenty of football left. Let's slow down and get through this together.
